Badge of Honor
I created this painting in 2024.
More than likely, I was smoking a square while I made it. 😅🙄
I was deep in smoking back then.
Truthfully, in some ways I didn’t even want to quit.
Quitting was more of a dream.
I’d look at the message in the painting like:
“I hear you. One day.”
One day, I’ll quit.
Then March 2, 2026 came.
The birthday of a cousin of mine who passed away.
That became the day.
Now when I look at that same painting, the message feels completely different.
It used to be motivation.
A reminder of something I wanted to do one day.
Now?
It’s a badge of honor.
The painting didn’t change.
I did.
As I move forward on my journey, I hope to gift this painting to someone else who needs the help.
And hopefully, when their day comes, they do the same.
Not for an ego boost for me.
But to change lives through my gift from God.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially if you smoke or used to smoke.
Maybe you have your own “one day.”
And maybe one day, you’ll look back and realize that day finally came.
My name is Kinfolk Wellin’ and I thank you for your time and support.
Oh yeah, who loves you baby!?
