I broke myself so the world won’t break me again.

See, I’m a loving and giving person. I know that about myself. But what I had to learn was just because I have that love to give doesn’t mean it’s for everybody to receive.

I’m the owner of that permission.

And I didn’t always understand that.

I gave to people on their terms, and eventually some people started feeling entitled to it. No responsibility. No reciprocity. Just an expectation that because I had always been there, I was supposed to keep being there.

Funny thing is, everything was fine until I stopped giving on their terms.

All I did was ask for the same energy I was already giving to be returned.

And somehow that became a problem.

That told me a lot.

So I had to learn something that was hard for somebody like me:

Leave people where they are.

Not because I don’t love them. Not because I suddenly stopped being a giving person. But because I finally understood that I don’t have to keep giving people access to me just because I have something to give.

So I stopped.

And I took that energy and rebuilt my tower.

The crazy part is, only the weak and shallow connections fell away. What was strong stayed. And what was strongest was me. That gave me something solid to repair and rebuild upon.

Some other parts showed wear and tear, so I removed them myself.

Some people left because the work was too much for them.

Either way….

I rebuilt my tower.

I’m stronger.

And now I’m standing in my power, while standing on my power.
