Art to Consumer

As AI becomes used more, work and production have been going through the roof.

If you have the money, you can produce in one sitting what it would take one man months to complete.

I’m not mad. I use this to my advantage as well.

Not the point.

What about creators like me who still produce the “old-fashioned” way?

By hand.

Now, I know they have stores and Shopify for that.

But what if you don’t want to give away profits as a small business owner?

What if you want to build direct-to-customer sales and relationships?

The amount of ways I have to connect with people who may want my paintings is astronomical.

The amount of people who believe I actually want a real business relationship and sale?

Not so much. 😂

Is that negative thinking and self-doubt?

We all have it, but no.

I’m talking about scammers!

Technology has created this weird situation.

I can sit down, paint something with my own hands, post it online, and potentially have someone across the country see it and say:

“I want that.”

That’s crazy when you really think about it.

But now they have to wonder:

Is this really his painting?

Is this actually for sale?

Is this dude about to scam me? 😶

Meanwhile, I’m on the other side wondering the same damn thing.

Are you really interested in my painting?

Are you actually trying to buy it?

Or are we three messages away from some weird-ass payment story? 🙄😂

So here we are.

More connected than ever, but questioning every connection.

And maybe that’s where creators like me have an opportunity.

I don’t necessarily want another company standing between my art and the person who wants it.

I made it.

You found it.

If it connects with you, why can’t we connect with each other?

AI can help me work.

Social media can help you find me.

Technology can handle everything in between.

But the beginning is still very old-fashioned:

I made something with my hands.

You saw it and felt something.

And maybe the future of handmade art doesn’t have to become more complicated than that.

Maybe all this technology can actually bring us back to something simple.

Artist to consumer.

Or in my case…

Art to Consumer.
