Don’t Come Closer

For the last two months, you have been waking up in the middle of the night sick to your stomach.

These stomach pains come at the same time every night and are incredibly painful.

You have been getting out of bed late so much that your spouse begins to come to you with concern.

You tell them that you haven’t been feeling well and have a doctor’s appointment coming up soon.

They are put to ease by this at first but the problem still presents itself at the same time nightly.

The mere thought of laying down to sleep at night brings you a rolling fear in your entire body.

You no longer lay in your bed for fear of the pain returning. It now consumes your every thought.

You have become so worried by these pains that you begin to talk to yourself at night, which your spouse has told you they overheard.

They think you are having an affair, which added even more stress to a stressful situation.

The time for your appointment comes, and it couldn’t be any sooner.

You explain to the doctor the situation and the intense relentless stomach cramps.

The doctor draws some blood and tells you she is going to run a few test.

“I have a theory about your stomach problems. But I want to run some tests to be sure.” She glances down at your notes before continuing, “I am going to give you something for the pain. The test results shouldn’t take more than a couple of days.”  She states before walking out of the room.

As you are waiting for the doctor to write your prescriptions, the thoughts of the relentless pain haunt your mind.

You call your spouse and tell them the news, and that you will be home after you run to the pharmacy.

You are given a prescription for pain medication, which you quickly have filled and take.

Over the next few days, while waiting for the doctor’s results, you are able to sleep thru the night.

You are relieved because the sleepless nights take a toll on your body.

Soon the thoughts of pain and the doctor visit begin to slip your mind.

After a two weeks of restful sleep, you wake and go into the bathroom and turn on the light.

You glance at yourself in the mirror and are shocked by what you see.

Your eyes are completely black, and you are covered in blood head to toe.

You step back in shock and mouth the words, “What the..”

However, as you do, you catch a glance of your teeth, which as now are razor-sharp and covered in blood and tissue.

The sight makes you sick to your stomach, and you run to the toilet and throw up.

When you are finished, you see a shining object floating in the bile.

It’s a ring still attached to the finger.

However, it’s not just anyone’s ring it’s your spouse’s ring!

“No! No! No! This is not happening!” You scream backing out of the bathroom.

You turn and look at your bed, and all you see are blood and body parts.

What do you do?
