You can’t eat breakfast for dinner!

I would only answer today’s prompt once I read another blogger’s post. I can tell by how she wrote that it represented her family’s current meal mindset.
How she described her go-to meal as breakfast for any meal of the day inspired me to write this post. Life is like that sometimes; we find the inspiration we need when we aren’t looking for it.
I have always been a burger guy, but I still am for real. Anybody who knows me can tell you I have eaten burgers all week and didn’t sweat. I ate so many cheeseburgers that I even made a ‘Ham-Burger’ blog post.

Eating burgers every day can and will get boring for some people. I remember a time an ex-girlfriend told me she was hungry. I was about to pull into Wendy’s, (I wasn’t being cheap. Wendy’s is my favorite burger joint, hands down.) She jokingly said, “Do it and I’ll cut your throat.”

So clearly we broke up, because she didn’t like Wendy’s. (LOL)

N.E. Who, lets get into it.

So, with all that in mind, I decided to go with my “break the routine” meals.
Breakfast is always my go-to food grouping to break the burger cycle.
When I was a child, my mother would have breakfast for dinner. I always enjoyed these days for some reason. Eating the meals out of order appealed to my young, rebellious mind. I still enjoy eating breakfast for dinner as an adult, though my order has slightly changed over the years.
I would start with three scrambled eggs, no cheese; I am not a fan of cheesy eggs like I used to be. The cheese sometimes throws off the balance of the sweet and savory blend I am seeking to reach with this meal. (As a kid, I would eat my eggs over-easy with the yolks running.)

Then, add six pieces of crispy turkey bacon to that plate. I understand that everyone isn’t a turkey bacon fan, which is understandable. It’d be great to get an excellent crisp piece of turkey bacon. Crispy hash browns and one waffle would epically complete this breakfast plate for me.
I could eat this meal all day with no problems.

The second meal on my list would also be in the breakfast category.
This meal would be a massive bowl of my Aunt’s Cream of Wheat.
I will be honest: My Aunt isn’t the best cook in the world by a long shot.
However, there is something about how my Aunt Erin would make her Cream of Wheat that made it more savory and flavorful than any other person’s I have ever tasted.
I am a grown-ass man who knows how to make Cream of Wheat. Maybe it’s just me holding on to a part of my childhood in some way.

I remember I told my Aunt this a couple of years ago, and she laughed because she thought I was joking.
More than likely, it’s because my family loves my cooking so much.

My third meal:
Bar B Que beef short ribs
Sweet potatoes
Mac and cheese
Greens and cornbread
As someone who doesn’t eat pork, it’s hard to find anyone who can make good bar b-que beef short ribs.
So, if you know how to make a good beef short rib, save me a plate. Wrap it to go; I’ll be there to get it. LBVS.

Wellin out.
