The first time I felt grown was when I was 18, and my Grandma wanted some cigarettes. I proudly approached the counter and asked for my Grandma’s brand of death sticks. I couldn’t wait for the gas station clerk to say, “Can I see your ID, please?
Side Note: Never start smoking; it is not cool!
The second time I felt grown was when my daughter was calling me. “Daddy. Dad. DAD!” she said, growing more confused when I didn’t answer.
Her mother walked into the room, “Uhh, don’t you hear your daughter calling you Kenny?” she said to me, looking confused as well.
I was playing the game when it hit me. “Damn, I am someone’s dad now.”

And the last time I will share is. In my 30s, I asked this young woman in her 20s if she knew what the Transformers was, and she said what’s that?
This story was before they redid the stories in movie form. I can’t remember, but I remember the feeling it gave me. “Damn, man, I am getting old.”
