Chapter One: This Anit That!

Part Three

However, with his head down, he marches on, not phased by the threats.

Now, the man has reached the section of the sidewalk 50 feet ahead of the man with the shotgun.

He pauses again, looking down at the dirt-covered bricks at his feet before raising his head and gazing towards the dark porch.

“This is your last… you know what!” the elderly man yells before pulling the two triggers.

“Boom-Boom!”

The shots roar across the silent scene, causing birds to flee to the safety of the sky from the terrible ruckus.

With each blast of the shotgun, the man slides closer to the house behind him.

As he slides backward, the house and darkness seem to swallow him entirely.

Meanwhile, the young man continues walking, unafraid of the two enormous blasts occurring simultaneously.

He continues his pace as the buck shots go through his body and hit the surrounding trees in the distance.

Without looking, he continues forward as trees fall in the distance from the hail of buck shots.

The falling tree tips graze his back as he finally reaches the front porch.

A massive gust of dust and wind sprints through the man’s clothes and slams against the house with a solid thud.

Unbowed by the wind gust, the man looks around the porch.

However, after scanning the area, he realizes the porch is empty.

He continues looking across the porch and is interrupted by the voice again.

“Who taught you that?” the raspy voice crackles through speakers hidden throughout the porch.

The man doesn’t look up nor answer and continues towards the front door to the left of the middle of the dust-covered house.

“Boom-Boom,”

Two more shots blast muffled from inside the house and over the porch speakers.

But again, the buck shots whiz through the man and hit the tops of the fallen trees, setting them into a red and orange blaze.

The man continues to turn the doorknob and walks through the unlocked door.

The door screams with rust as if it has never opened as he walks through it.

“You did,” the man said, walking into the door and closing it behind himself.
