I was going through the news this morning on my phone.
They provide a glance into the state of the public mindset for me.
I will be the first to admit that I don’t do this often.
The news has a way of putting the most provoking information out to get the best emotional reaction to stir up views and shares.
And today was no different. 😵💫🤕 This is why I have my methods of gathering information about my country.
I try to stay up on events that affect the public by listening to what every person talks about in conversation.
In this aspect, I can gauge the trends and decide whether it is worth mental space. 💯
The Topic of Discussion
There was an article about a young man in Kansas City, Missouri, who got shot in the head for going to the wrong house. 🫨😤
The young man was going to pick up his siblings and went to the wrong house because it looked similar to the one his siblings were at. 😔
He was shot in the head by an elderly white man who said he thought he was trying to rob him.
This reason might be plausible if the young man didn’t ring the doorbell, but he did.
As far as I can tell from the article, the young man didn’t intrusive trespass on the older man’s property. He just rang the doorbell.
WTF
I will not put links to the story because there are so many more stories like his.
The young man survived this evil attack but suffers from headaches and nightmares as a result.
This young man will carry this burden for the rest of his life; with the newfound attention, who knows what type of new trials will come about?
Traumatic events change people forever.
Sometimes, the effects of that traumatic event don’t show up until years later.
But they always resurface.
What’s the point?
This man’s type of behavior should punished and never tolerated at any age or status of life.
Why should this young man have to go through life with added struggles because some dumb ass thinks in a dead ancient time?
This brutal attack on this young should not be something that “it is what it is. “
This should be addressed by the neighbors and community where this older man stays.
This event can cast a foreshadowing across the whole neighborhood.
Or is this the mentality of all the other neighbors as well?
