Daily writing prompt
Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

The Introduction

As an artist, I have performed more times than I can count.

There is no point in my adult life since I decided to record music that I am not on stage. I have been in various states and recorded music in most states I went to. Each place adds its own type of favor to my style.

The Answer

As a rapper, I haven’t performed more than twenty times I can remember. You might think that the number was higher. However, Nothing about the stage made me lust for the center. I am not the type of person who wants someone who wouldn’t even speak to me. Then, do you want to hug me after the spotlight hits me? Naw, keep the energy you had before.

I have had people tell me they enjoyed the music and the performance; that’s different and welcomed. The other is a star chaser; I am good on that part.

It goes against everything that most Hip-hop artists stand for or rap about. I couldn’t care less. Nothing in my life is what it looks like from the surface level. I perform daily for my fans. People stare at me as if I am famous already. I don’t take it like most people would; she thinks I’m handsome, or he saw my neckless sparkling; that’s why he is looking at me. I think on both occasions, ” Da fuck you looking at?”

What’s the Point?

This would be a problem for the fan who notices me and wants to tell me he enjoys the music. Or the woman who is a little stirred up because she has seen me in a standard setting. I would not intend to offend these people and their genuine support, but that’s what will happen if you are not on stage the whole time. No matter what is going on in your life, the sacrifice you pay for is center stage.

In conclusion

Being center stage, it felt too programmed from the start. Make sure you work the cameras. Don’t do this, can’t do that. I know it’s show business; that’s just how it works. But that is not in my nature; I am not built for this time’s stage or limelight. I will remain the guy they think wants to but can’t. I can. I don’t want to. It sounds the same, but it is not.
